My wife Elizabeth has a rose bush that was originally owned by her grandmother. When she moves, the Rose bush is moved also.

We don’t know exactly how old the bush is, but Elizabeth thinks it’s a least 50 years old.  When we moved to out new home in Spring Hill 2 years ago, she planted her 50 year old bush and bought a new one to plant of the other side of the porch to make the landscaping symmetrical. 

The roses on the new bush cannot compare to the old one in number of blooms, or fragrance of the flowers.

AND NINE MONTHS LATER…….
Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob. So they loaded up Jack’s
minivan and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in
a terrible blizzard. So they pulled into a nearby farm and asked the
attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night.
‘I realize it’s terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to
myself, but I’m recently Widowed,’ she explained. ‘I’m afraid the
neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house’ ‘Don’t worry,’ Jack said.
‘We’ll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we’ll be
gone at first light.’ The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to
the barn and settled in for the night.
Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They
enjoyed a great Weekend of skiing. But about nine month s later , Jack got
an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure
it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that
attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend.
He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked, ‘Bob, do you remember that
good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up north
about 9 months ago?’ ‘Yes, I do.’ said Bob. ‘Did you, er, happen to get up
in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit?’
‘Well, um, yes, ‘Bob said, a little embarrassed about being found out, ‘I
have to admit that I did.’ ‘And did you happen to use my name instead of
telling her your name?’ Bob’s face turned beet red and he said, ‘Yeah,
look, I’m sorry, buddy. I’m afraid I did.’ Why do you ask?’
‘She just died and left me everything.’

• Hobbies – I used to have a lot of hobbies that required physical exertion, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that volleyball and tennis are sports that make my joints hurt, and all my friends are in such bad shape, that I would have to find new ones to keep up. I also used to ride motorcycles, both dirt and street bikes. Unfortunately some of my riding friends have been seriously hurt or even worse, so I decided years ago to give it up. The one sport that seems to get better with age is golf, I would say I love golf, but that really doesn’t cover it. When I have spare time, that’s what I do. I’m a 8 handicap if anyone knows what that means.
• My wife Elizabeth has been the best thing that has ever happened to me, her wisdom far exceeds her age, and I hope that everyone has a chance to meet someone this special in their life. She is a Mississippi native, and speaks without any accent. She works for a software company full time as a corporate trainer, and she also holds a brokers license, so she helps with real estate when I need it. She is also a golfer, as well as an expert at decorating and remodeling homes. As much as most people think I’m a computer whiz, sometimes I turn it over to her, because she’s better a correcting problems. I  met her when she bought one of my listings 4 years ago, and the rest is history. It’s a great feeling to know that you have the same goals and hobbies that your partner has.
• My son Elliott from my first marriage is 22 years old, a really smart personable young man, and he doesn’t even know it. I’m always amazed to hear his opinion of business and world events, because he sounds like a professor. But he did say he was the only on in his business class who watched CNBC every day. He has been a type 1 diabetic since 8 years old, so his life has some challenges.He works for a
• My business went through major changes last year, I decided after 4 years that Century 21 was not the place for me, and switched to Keller Williams. As most people do when the make that move, my only regret was waiting so long to do it. I did a lot of research on all of the other RE offices in my area, and decided to go with the office that was the best personality fit for me. I know that Keller Williams is not for everyone, but It does fit me. With the switch of offices, I decided to create a new Internet site that would promote me instead of my broker. This was quite the challenge, and I’m still working on it. I have a point2agent website http://www.nashvillerealestatelink.com/, a Keller Williams site http://www.larrybrewer.com/, and a site I built for my builder, http://www.lhbtn.com/, as well as a WordPress blog. I’m still reading and learning about SEO, but I don’t think it’s something I will ever master. If I can ever justify the cost, I will probably have a point2agent partner build a better site, or maybe have Mary Mcknight build me a better blog .
• I am a Nashville native, I have always lived in Nashville, and never want to leave. I worked for 26 years for Service Merchandise company in the corporate office in Brentwood. My many job tasks and responsibilities all fell under the title of Computer Operation Manager. Most people read that and think I’m a whiz on a PC, and that would be incorrect. The Computers that my department used were as big as a house, and cost as much as a neighborhood. The 400 store chain used this system to track every item and every customer on a daily basis. All of this was housed in a very secure 20,000 square ft room with redundant power from 2 substations and a generator. A satellite network was used for communications, because some towns didn’t have reliable networks. My staff worked 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  In 2002, the company closed it’s doors after new management made major changes to the company that didn’t work. Thousands of people lost their jobs due to bad decisions.
• At 44 years old I was free to start my new career. And as with most people, I wish I  had started sooner. I was given a desk in the corner, a phone, and an Internet connection. The fact that I was able to do any business the first 6 months is amazing to me now. I understand what it means when I spend a few hours helping a newbie agent. I did get some help, but not enough when I needed it. My friends from the past have been my best source of business, even after spending many thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours farming, and advertising, they are still my best source of business.
• In the spring of 2007, I moved from a small Century 21 office to a very large Keller Williams office. I won’t get into why I moved, but when I did, I was forced to rethink my marketing strategy, and how I could reach more people. Thanks to Vanessa Stalets for introducing me to active rain. I now feel like I can find answers to questions that were not available to me in past.
• My goals as a real estate agent are very simple. I want every customer to know that I am working in their best interest, and I hold myself responsible for knowing the best methods for selling their property. The only way to succeed in this business is to by having repeat customers and referrals. Customer service is the key to both.

The real estate market for Spring Hill Williamson county, zip code 37174 for 2007 showed typical patterns of high sales in summer, and slower sales in winter. The number of homes for sale at year end was 306, and the average price was $325,222.

• average price of closed homes in December of 2006 was $288,345, compared to $323,124 in 2007
• number of homes closed in December of 2006 was 56 compared to 25 in 2007
• average size of closed homes in December 2006 was 2670 compared to 2898 in 2007

Average sold price was up 12 percent compared to December 2006

Average homes sold is down 55 percent compared to December 2006

Home sales are down, put the prices are going up compared to last year.

Here are some more pictures of the Barber motorsports facilty in Birmingham, I have 100 pictures, so I’m trying to keep the blogs easy to manage. The facility is run by exceptionally nice people and the building is exceptionally clean from top to bottom. When you visit, plan to spend at least 1/2 a day to see everything. 

If you are a motorcycle or racing fan, this is an amazing place.

While visiting my In-laws this past week in Birmingham, we decided to visit the Barber Motorsports museum and race track. This facility is the most amazing collection of vintage motorcycles  I have ever seen, as well the best collection of Lotus race cars in the world. I would suggest to any automotive enthusiast with a free day to visit this amazing place.
